Britney Spears’ new memoir, The Woman In Me, doesn’t arrive until Oct. 24, but it has already landed No. 1 on Amazon’s Best Sellers book list.
Ahead of its release next week, the Grammy-winning singer dropped a slew of bombshells, including that she had an abortion during her relationship with Justin Timberlake and the emotional abuse and loss of control that she endured during her 13-year conservatorship, which ended in November 2021.

Published by Simon & Schuster’s Gallery Books imprint, Spears’ 288-page autobiography will be narrated by Michelle Williams for the audiobook version and will also be available for the Kindle and other e-book formats. Those who pre-order now will save 48 percent off the Kindle price or 30 percent off the hardcover.
In a cover story for People, the 41-year-old star revealed her reasons for releasing the book and shared excerpts detailing her childhood, from her days starring in The Mickey Mouse Club alongside Timberlake, Keri Russell and Ryan Gosling (who she nearly co-starred with in The Notebook) and returning to her Louisana hometown; her head-shaving incident; and more.
“Over the past 15 years or even at the start of my career, I sat back while people spoke about me and told my story for me,” she told People. “After getting out of my conservatorship, I was finally free to tell my story without consequences from the people in charge of my life.”
Those who want to listen to Spears’ new book for free can do so with a 30-day trial to Audible, which is 60 percent off for the first four months for new subscribers. Audible subscriptions include one free credit (Amazon Prime members get two credits) for any premium title to keep, plus access to best-selling audiobooks, new releases, podcasts, original content and more. New Audible subscribers pay $5.95 per month during their first quarter; after that, the subscription auto-renews at $14.95 per month.
